Annual Prize Distribution Day 2016
St. Aloysius High School celebrated its annual day on the 27th of August 2016. It was an occasion for the students to showcase their talents through dance and music, guided ably by the teachers. The programme began with the arrival of our Chief guest Rev. Fr. Valerian D’Souza SFX, Director of the Father Agnel Technical Complex , Bandra and the guests of Honour, Mr and Mrs Santosh Phatak, parents of our SSC 2016 topper Miss Priyanka Phatak who were welcomed by our Manager Rev Fr. Reuben Tellis, Headmistress Mrs. Clera Almeida and Supervisor Mrs. Beatrice D’Mello.
Seeking God’s blessings before commencing the programme, the traditional lighting of the lamp by the distinguished guests was followed by a prayer dance by the students of std 8. The guests were then felicitated. The Headmistress Mrs. Clera Almeida, was felicitated by our Manager Rev Fr. Reuben Tellis, for completing 25 years of service in this institution with the Supervisor Mrs Beatrice D’Mello paying her a fitting tribute on behalf of the staff and students.
The choir, trained by music teacher Mrs. Felicia set the tone for the evening with a melodious opening chorus.
The cultural programme had a good blend of dance and music . It started with a vibrant mix of ethnic dance forms such as the Kashmiri, Goan, Bhangra and a Maharashtrian medley by the students of Std 5 to 9 . The power-packed performance by the students set the stage on fire. Some from the audience were also seen grooving to the beats, seated in their places.
The second part of the celebration began with the power-point presentation of the Annual Report for the year 2015-2016. The report unveiled all the activities undertaken during the academic session and highlighting the achievements of the school and the students. The report was presented by Tr. Jessy Mathew and Master Dylan Albuquerque. Soon after the report, the guests were escorted to the dais. Our chief guest then addressed the gathering with an inspiring speech.
It was time for the stars of St. Aloysius to be honored for their outstanding performance in the field of academics. Rev. Fr. Valerian D’souza and Mr and Mrs Santosh Phatak gave away the prizes to the meritorious students of the academic year 2015-2016. The Vote of thanks was proposed by Mrs. Clera Almeida. With this, the celebration came to an end. It was indeed a joyous moment for the guests, parents, students and the teachers to participate in this power-packed programme.
