Headmistress Mrs. Clera Almeida with Fr. William while cutting the cake

A Memorable Day at St. Aloysius – Our Manager’s Birthday

The 15th Of March is a red letter day for St. Aloysius High School. It is the day we celebrate the Birthday of Rev. Fr. William Athaide, our manager and Parish Priest.

The Celebration began with the Eucharist. We began with the main celebrant Fr. William Athaide walking in procession to Altar with the Flag bearers of the School Flag and of the Four Houses. The Teachers also came in the procession. Fr. William preached an awe inspiring homily.

After class, the teachers were called up to the school hall for some snacks and coffee.

This was followed by a beautiful celebration in the hall. There were floral tributes and handmade card by children of each division of the secondary section.

The programme was excellently executed by the supervisor. Mrs. Beatrice D’mello, Tr. Smita Gonsalves and Tr. Gladys Pereira, Sir, Ashish Tiwari compered the show.

It was a scintillating performance with a welcome song, Dances and a play.

All our actions begin with the Lord. Fr. Athaide, Our Headmistress Mrs. Clera Almeida began the Birthday celebration with the lighting of the lamp and garlanded the statue, our patron Saint Aloysius.

A prayer Dance was performed by the Girls of Std. 8th to the soft strains of Indian Music.

Tr. Felicia trained the choir and they melodiously executed the opening chorus as a welcome song.

Then we had the traditional cutting of Birthday Cake without which no birthday is ever complete.

The students of Std. 7th and 8th entertained the guests and the students with hip hop danced and the girls dance to the tunes of a famous indigenous song.

The assistant head boy and Sir Martin greeted Fr. William with beautiful birthday wishes.

Mrs. Clera Almeida addressed the entire school extolling the virtues of Rev. Fr. William Athaide, his support to the school, the interest he showed and thanked him profusely for his constant presence in the school and its activities.

Our supervisor directed a superb play “Beauty is a beast” and she trained the actors well so they enacted a brilliant performance.

Mr. Indrakumar rendered a creative artistic impression in song dedicated to Rev. Fr. William Athaide.

The programme ended with a vote of thanks by the Manager. The children were given muffins and cadbury each to celebrate our Managers birthday.
