St. Aloysius Rekindles the Spirit of Republic Day

The staff, students & PTA members of St. Aloysius High School, Bandra (w) celebrated Republic Day with great enthusiasm to wish the citizens and spread the message of patriotism.

A unique way of greeting & pinning up the Indian Flag on citizens which began from 8.30 – 10.00 am. A special thanks to the Bandra Interschool Republic Day (BIRD) team for conceptualizing this unique & excellent event that brought the children of Bandra & other suburbs on one platform enabling universal harmony among the citizens. While the principals of some schools were in New Delhi to attend the parade the 364 students from class 7 – 9 were stationed at Mt. Carmel Church, MET College, Rizvi garden, Lilavati hospital, Bandra reclamation bus depot, subway, Cafe coffee day & Starbucks to wish citizens a happy Republic Day. The students of classes 7-9 were given 10 flags each with a patriotic message “Proud to be an Awakened Indian “printed on it whereas, the students of class 4 were given 5 flags each to distributed among the members of their our society

This event witnessed mixed feelings & nations. While some citizens appreciated the idea and gave a positive feedback others critised it saying “Don’t make a show but teach the children the meaning of Republic day while others refuse to accept the flags as they felt that ultimately the flags will go into the bins so in what way are we respecting our motherlands?” The Students displayed their enormous talents like Team Dynamics, Discipline, Organizing Activity, Communication, Leadership, Planning etc.
